The Leather Industries of America (LIA), the U.S. Hide, Skin and Leather Association (USHSLA) and the International Council of Tanners (ICT) are pleased to announce that the Fourth Edition of the World Leather Congress (4th WLC) will be presented in New York City, on Tuesday, July 16, 2019. LIA and USHSLA jointly will host the 4th WLC with support from Lineapelle (one of the most important leather exhibition networks worldwide) and the Italian Tanners Association (UNIC).
The concept for this 4th WLC will be “Leather in Everyday Life” with a focus on fashion. Speakers from the world of fashion and other concerned industries will describe why leather is such a bespoke material and the many positive ways that leather touches the lives of people every day in their homes, cars, clothing, sports and accessories. Other speakers will address the story and value of leather as an environmentally sustainable material.
The Congress will conclude with a cocktail party and fashion show featuring unique designs from designers around the world, including the U.S., Italy, Brazil and China. The audience for the program is expected to include leather buyers and fashion designers for fashion houses, brands and stores.
The Congress will occur the day before the Lineapelle New York Leather Show (in its 38th edition in July 2019) at a venue convenient to the location of the show. Other logistics and arrangements for the Congress will be developed over the next several months.
